Our one-of-a-kind Roasted Chestnut Flour is stone-ground, small batch made and gluten-free, making it perfect for baking and pastry uses. For this flour, we use roasted chestnuts that are naturally sweet. Just like our regular flour, we get our chestnuts from our growers throughout Michigan.
This flour is our specialty blend which we only have available in very limited quantities.
Unlike other chestnut flour, our chestnuts are roasted in a way totally unique to Treeborn before we make flour. This gives our Roasted Chestnut Flour a flavor that is more pronounced with the natural sugars and a hint of "chestnuts roasting on the open fire" taste. Our roasted flour has a rich, complex, roasted nutty-flavor that lends itself wonderfully to breads, pastas and other bake goods. The color is slightly darker than our regular Chestnut Flour and the taste is slightly more pronounced. Truly one-of-a-kind.
